 Dr. Hern was raised in Vienna, Missouri (pop. 750) in central Missouri. She graduated from Maries County R-1 High School in Vienna and then attended UMKC's accelerated 6 year medical program straight out of high school. There she completed her undergraduate studies, majoring in liberal arts and then completed her MD degree in 2007. Following medical school she went to the UMKC Family Medicine Residency Program at Truman Lakewood Hospital in Lee’s Summit, learning all facets of Family Medicine.
During residency Dr. Hern met and married Michael Hern. Michael is a realtor with Keller-Williams and works throughout the Kansas City metro area. They currently reside in Lee's Summit.
In her free time, Dr. Hern enjoys going back to Vienna and visiting her family, horsebacking riding and working on her parents’ cattle ranch. She also enjoys reading and visiting new restaurants in the KC area. |
